Madison Hildebrandt is an estate planning attorney at Carolina Estate Planning. He believes in the principle of enlightened self-interest—the idea that the best way to serve yourself is to first serve others. He strives to put the interests of his clients, colleagues, and community first, believing that trust, integrity, and genuine service create better outcomes for everyone involved. This philosophy guides every client relationship and reflects his commitment to providing thoughtful counsel and practical estate planning solutions.

Madison earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Campbell University School of Law. Before law school, he received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Southern Virginia University after earning an associate degree from Dixie State University (now Utah Tech University). During his undergraduate years, Madison competed in collegiate baseball at both Dixie State University (NCAA Division II) and Southern Virginia University (NCAA Division III), experiences that instilled the discipline, teamwork, and perseverance he brings to his legal practice.

Originally from Southern California, Madison’s path to North Carolina has taken him across the country several times. He and his wife lived in Virginia while he completed his undergraduate education and later in Arizona, where he taught high school English before pursuing a career in law. His background in education continues to shape his practice today, allowing him to explain complex legal concepts in a clear, approachable manner and helping clients feel informed and confident as they make important decisions for their families.

Madison enjoys helping individuals and families create estate plans that reflect their goals, protect the people they love, and provide confidence for the future. He believes every family has a unique story, and every estate plan should be tailored to reflect that story.

Outside the office, Madison enjoys spending time with his wife, their two children, and their dog. He spends his free time hiking, weightlifting, or finding for an excuse to get on the pickleball court. During quieter moments, he can often be found reading classic literature, particularly the works of Homer and Milton, as well as Charles Dickens, Fyodor Dostoevsky, and J.R.R. Tolkien.
