A practiced leader with excellent project management skills and an aptitude for quality improvement, Kate Winterbottom ensures that the law firm functions effectively, efficiently and with a high degree of attention to client satisfaction. Kate works to foster a welcoming environment for employees and assists staff with all aspects of law firm operations. She is passionate about developing processes, systems, and solutions to solve problems. Kate brings this focus to Carolina Estate Planning each day with the goal to connect potential clients to legal solutions that can help improve their lives.
Before joining Carolina Estate Planning, Kate spent the last decade working as the lead speech pathologist at a large, level one trauma hospital where she trained staff, built an award-winning interdisciplinary team, optimized patient care services, and improved departmental and organizational systems. In her early career, Kate worked for an environmental education nonprofit and organized a team of health care providers across the country to connect children to nature.
Kate received her Bachelor of Science from Tulane University in 2003 and then earned a Master of Public Health from Tulane School of Public Health in 2009. Kate went on to earn a Master of Science in Speech Pathology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014. Her academic foundation, coupled with her diverse experiences, contributes to her holistic approach to the legal profession and her role in enhancing the well-being of the clients we serve.
Kate enjoys working with and spending time with her husband, Jeff, as well as chasing around their two adorable and messy children, Linden and Freya. When she has time to herself, Kate can be found hiking through her local North Carolina Forest, feeling the wind on her face riding her bike, or helping Eastern box turtles cross the road safely.
