We are looking for an experienced salesperson (also called our Client Engagement Specialist) to ensure that the firm is always putting its best foot forward for potential new clients.
The base salary for this position depends on experience and qualifications and ranges from $60,000 to $65,000. There is additional bonus compensation that is dependent on performance: the bonus can raise the salary to $100,000 and higher. Benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, health insurance coverage, dental and vision insurance, and the option to participate in our retirement savings plan with employer match, once eligible. We pay 100% of the premiums for medical, dental and vision benefits. If you are looking for a high-energy and positive team environment with lots of growth potential, then look no further.
If you are not a proven sales professional, and if you cannot discuss big price points and complex problems with maturity and sensitivity, please do not apply. If you don’t have the motivation to follow-up with prospects, please do not continue.
This position is only for experienced salespeople who can both sell legal services and cultivate new relationships. We provide training in what you need to know to best help our clients, and for the right person this will be a highly rewarding position personally, professionally, and financially.
We need a bright, creative, empathetic, and compassionate person who can convey the value of our services to potential clients and enhance our client experience. We are here to guide our clients through the estate planning and probate processes, achieve positive results, and help them and their families build a better tomorrow.
This position will:
- Conduct initial client consultations to sell legal services for estate planning and probate
- Follow up with potential new clients who have not yet retained us
- Manage the end-to-end sales process from consultation to engagement as well as data tracking
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A demonstrated record of success selling high-end professional services or products
- Inside sales experience
- The ability to build and nurture relationships with potential new clients
- The ability to interact with different types of personalities
- Compassion and empathy for potential clients and put them at ease
- Knowledge on how to close a sale by creating urgency and promoting value
- Exceptional communication skills in person, over the phone and in writing
- The flexibility to not get discouraged when things don’t go as planned
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn about new topics (like Wills, Trusts and Probate)
Real life experience and a few “battle scars” providing empathy and understanding are assets. Experience overcoming a major obstacle in life and making an important change in your life so you know at your core that others can do it too, is a plus.
The salesperson doesn’t give legal advice, so legal experience is not required. Prior sales and customer service experience is required because we need someone who is caring and empathetic, especially toward people suffering from dementia, other progressive disease and are faced with end-of-life decision-making.
We are looking for a team player with the creativity and organization to help us expand our business. The person we hire must bring a high level of energy, positivity, and bring a can-do attitude to work every day.
If you are the “high pressure” type who thinks sales is a macho game, please do not continue. We believe sales is a service we do for our prospects to help educate them, help them think through their options, and make courageous decisions about their future. We really believe that even if we decide not to accept an engagement from a prospect, that every prospective new client should leave our office better off in some way than when they came in. Our motto is, “everyone gets helped.”
If you come from the school of thought that making a sale is all about what you can “get” from a prospect or what you can “talk them into,” please do not apply. We believe in consultative selling where we help our prospective new clients make sense of their situation, weigh their options and make important and often life changing decisions. We are into using the sale as the beginning of a long-term relationship with our prospective new clients. If you are interested in a career (we really think of it as more of a “calling”) that offers competitive income and benefits, loads of training and professional development to stay sharp, total transparency (another way of saying there’s nowhere to “hide”), and fuel for your soul because we’re really and truly helping people then please apply.
If you apply and follow all the instructions, we will ask you to complete a brief written interview before having any interviews. We do this to ensure that you can read, write, and think critically. If you do not wish to complete the written interview, please do not apply.
DIRECTIONS TO APPLY:
First, use our secure form below to submit your resume and cover letter. If we review your resume and cover letter and think we might be a good fit, we will send you a written interview. Applicants who successfully complete the written interview will be contacted for an in-person or Zoom interview. Your cover letter should include the following information:
- What interests you about this position?
- What makes working at an estate planning and probate law firm particularly intriguing?
- What do you bring to the table (i.e., qualities that would be of value to the firm)?
